Close to… everything!

St. Mary’s Living History

Historic Downtown St. Mary’s, one of the oldest towns in Georgia, is known for its small-town charm and offers visitors a variety of family-friendly activities. In additional to the annual festivals that occur in St. Mary’s each year, visitors can participate in a range of waterfront and outdoor activities, visit the Submarine and Cumberland Island National Seashore Museums, or spend the day shopping and dining along the quaint downtown Main Street.

Commute to King’s Bay

NorthShore is less than a 20-minute drive from Kings Bay Naval Base, the state-of-the-art East Coast home to the Atlantic Fleet’s Ballistic and Guided Missile submarines. The base currently employs approximately 7,000 military members and civilians and has an annual impact of more than $1.1 billion.

Live On The River

And play on the coast. Cumberland Island National Seashore, Georgia’s largest barrier island and home to the famous Dungeness Ruins, is one of St. Mary’s most popular natural attractions. Accessible only by boat, Cumberland Island features nearly 10,000 acres of pristine maritime forest and more than 17 miles of secluded, white-sand beaches. Georgia’s Golden Isles (St. Simon’s Island, Sea Island, and Jekyll Island) are within an hour of the community and present NorthShore residents with the perfect opportunity to get away while staying home.

Hone Your Short Game

Golf courses are plentiful in the area surrounding NorthShore with four 18-hole courses within a half hour’s drive of the community. Just over the Georgia-Florida state line are four additional courses including Amelia National, one of the world’s finest private golf destinations. In total, there are eight 18-hole courses that can be reached in less than an hour.
